General Preschool Information

Preschool classrooms are located at Tozer Primary, Grandview Elementary, Range View Elementary and at Skyview Elementary.

Each class is staffed by a certified teacher and a para-professional.  We maintain an 1:8 teacher to child ratio in each class that has CPP students and a 1:10 ratio in our classrooms with tuition students and special education students only.  Our program is an integrated program and each class has some students with special needs and students who attend under the Colorado Preschool Program. Each class has an opportunity to access the school library, participates in a large motor activities and group language activities daily.  Speech/Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other related service personnel provide services to special needs students within the classrooms.

Children participate in a curriculum that offers rich experiences to help them develop their social, communication, cognitive, self help, fine and gross motor skills as well as opportunities that help support pre-readiness skills for Kindergarten.  We use nationally recognized Creative Curriculum GOLD widely regarded as a forward-thinking, comprehensive, rigorously researched curriculum approach that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant to every child as well as Preschool Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), Hand Writing Without Tears, Second Steps and Zoophonics in each classroom.
Preschool classes are held Tuesday through Friday.
Morning hours are 8:05 to 10:50 a.m. and afternoon hours are 12:05 to 2:50 p.m.

There are also two day a week classes for young three year old special education students.  These classes are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:05-2:50.
