Child Find Services
In keeping with federal mandates, Weld Re-4 School District offers screenings and evaluations for children birth through five years of age to identify children who may be in need of early intervention services and early education experiences. Screenings and evaluations are conducted year round.
If you suspect that your child may be delayed in meeting developmental milestones or in need of therapy, child find services are available to help you. Call 970.686.8420 and speak to the child find coordinator, Heidi Blair, or you can e-mail her at heidi.blair@weldre4.k12.co.us

General Preschool Information

Preschool classrooms are located at Tozer Primary, Grandview Elementary, Range View Elementary and at Skyview Elementary.
Each class is staffed by a certified teacher and a para-professional. There are no more than 16 children in each class. Our program is an integrated program and each class has some students with special needs, some students who attend under the Colorado Preschool Program and also some students who attend as tuition students. Each class has an opportunity to access the school library, participates in a large motor obstacle course and group language activity once a week. Speech/Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other related service personnel provide services to special needs students within the classroom.
Children participate in a curriculum that offers rich experiences to help them develop their social, communication, cognitive, self help, fine and gross motor skills as well as opportunities that help support pre-readiness skills for Kindergarten. We use the Creative Curriculum as a guide and curriculum as well as Preschool Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) in each classroom.
Preschool classes are held Tuesday through Friday.
Morning hours are 8:05 to 10:50 a.m. and afternoon hours are 12:05 to 2:50 p.m.
Screenings are offered every other week throughout the school year for families that have concerns regarding their child's development and may need access to special education services. Contact Heidi Blair at 970-686-8420 to make an appointment.
